The Raspberry Oolong infused simple syrup adds sophistication to this otherwise 2 ingredient drink.
The the crisp raspberries are balanced nicely by the sweet tea infused syrup and the club soda bubbles add an element of fun to this spritzer.
My 11 year old son came through the kitchen while I was preparing for this recipe post and drained my demo for the photos - handing me back an empty glass. That's pretty high praise!
There is something fun about drinking from a cocktail glass. While I want the fun drink in the evening, I don't always want to drink alcohol. So, I love to make mocktails and use my stemware for a fun experience without the booze. This non-alcoholic take on a Raspberry Valentini uses tea infused simple syrup and club soda to give your palate something to sing about.
Berry Spritzer
Ingredients
You can pick any flavor of club soda and switch out the fruit to make your signature spritzer.
1c sugar
1 tbsp Raspberry Oolong Tea (I got mine here)
3-4 raspberries (I used frozen)
club soda
Optional: Mint Leaves for garnish
Directions
**Make ahead of time**
Combine the water, sugar and tea in a small saucepan to make the oolong infused simple syrup. Bring to a boil briefly and stir until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat immediately and let cool. This will keep in your fridge for a month! I used a steeping sack but you could boil with the tea leaves floating then strain it out.
To make your drink, muddle a few raspberries in the bottom of your glass, and 1 tbsp cooled simple syrup, and about 3 oz club soda.
Make it a cocktail: add 1 oz white/clear liquor like rum, gin, or vodka
What berry flavor oolong would you use to make your perfect spritzer?
