A healthy popsicle that kids will actually eat? I would have thought no way, until I tried out the Magical Fruit Tea line. The beautiful blue or purple color comes from the Butterfly Blue Pea Flowers in this loose leaf fruit tea.
I love how pretty the Magical Fruit Teas are!
These 20 calories popsicles have a light fruity flavor. The color is affected by the PH of the water you use, so while mine are this purple color, yours might be anywhere from light blue to pink!
Your List of Ingredients
Unicorn Kisses Magical Fruit Tea (3-9 tsp)
1-4 cups water
Fresh or Frozen Berries
Step 1: Let’s Get Started
I used my Pampered Chef Quicksicle Maker for this popsicle recipe, but you can use any popsicle maker. Check out the instructions for your popsicle maker and pre-chill if necessary.
Now, let's make our tea so we can get it chilled. You'll also want to pre-make your fruit tea so you can chill it. I made mine strong by adding about twice as much tea as was needed for the water. To make a strong blend, put about 9 teaspoons of fruit tea in the tea press or tea pot then add about 4 cups of water. To make a normal cup of tea add 1.5 tsp for each cup of water. Dump the tea into the water and let steep for 5 minutes (hot water) or 5 hours (cold water).
All of the ingredients in the Magical Fruit Tea are edible, so you can add them into your popsicle mold with the tea or strain them out using a tea infuser. This is a personal choice.
Step 2: Pour the Molds
Once the tea is chilled, fill the molds with tea and berries. Follow the popsicle mold directions to freeze your popsicles.
Make it Your Own
I love the Magical Fruit teas for homemade popsicles, but tea-sicles can be made with any tea. How about Limoncello White Tea or maybe Grapefruit Mimosa? How would you make this your own?
Special thanks to recipes.sipology.com for the inspiration.
